I began this blog last 2013 and have been enjoying it immensely. I still recall those days when I had no clue about how to use WordPress and when I had to teach myself Photoshop. I would stay up until 2am, no coffee just the need to learn and improve as motivation. I humbly look back at what my blog first looked like.. I loved it back then.
First I blogged to fill my desires. I was looking to fill a need to do more, something to fill the gap and hours when interior design projects were lean. Then the following year, a new purpose was realized. I blogged to fill my soul. I loved the calm and relaxation that blogging brought for me. I love curating photos, editing picture sizes and composing posts. Then soon I began to realize that I was blogging because I wanted to inspire. This was when I launched the hashtag #inspiredhomeliving and my new blog look. I wanted to inspire people to create cleaner, prettier and more organized homes so they live a more stress free and harmonious home life.
This past 2015, I admittedly worked less on my blog. I stopped sleeping at 2am for health reasons and took a more slow blogging approach but I focused on the business. I gradually worked on my social media presence and the business side began to pick up. I worked on my online store and perfecting the products for it in collaboration with two amazing brands. I also decided to change my blog logo, name and URL. Yes, marilen.ph is now www.marilenstyles.com! I just felt the need to go with a more global brand and so with the help of three amazing people, thehappywahm, Jenn of thetechiemom, and my logo and blog designer, Pat of fancygirldesignstudio; I am now officially launching my new blog look and new url.
