My parents home is finally complete. Amidst the sprawling pineapple and coffee plantation sits this beautiful Tuscan inspired home. The cool breeze and fresh air is something we look forward to on most weekends. Family togetherness, catching up and reminiscing past stories over some wine is simply made perfect as we gather on the top most balcony. The kids love it here too! They have pet dogs, cats, geese and the whole sprawling outdoors to explore. Here are some photo’s of the finished outcome.
I appreciate how my parents were able to re-use and restore most of our old furniture. Some of these pieces like the metal accent chairs have been around a long time ago. They belonged to my father’s aunt who once studied Interior Design at Parson’s in New york.
I really had nothing to do with how this place turned out. My parents are very creative and artistic! A lot of the artwork and accessories came from our former home.
This dining table set made of wood and bamboo was the same dining set we used as kids! My dad used to be in furniture manufacturing, and these are some of his most memorable pieces. It looks perfect for this new home.
This unique table located at the center of the current kitchen is made of wood and coffee tree bark. It does add character to this space. The console table at the back is actually a sewing machine base with a nice solid wood top.
A lot of these accessories belonged to my American grandfather. This metal and glass thing on the table is actually a vintage navigational compass! The lamps used to accent our balcony pillars belonged to him too. It makes the perfect accent and will always remind us of our grandpa.
