Wow.. it feels like ages since my last blog post. Sadly that is what moving into a new home with no stable wifi does. I really miss connecting with you all and I am praying the gods of time and the wifi magic spirits allow me to blog more often from now on! Yes, we moved house and today, three weeks in our new home, my husband called me this morning to say that we are having guests for dinner tomorrow! PANIC! My dining chairs are not complete, my gallery wall is lacking a couple of frames, and our balcony which was intended to be an extension for our dining room is no where near presentable. I spent the afternoon counting our guest plates and glassware, purchasing a few extra glasses and looking for dining chairs. I still haven’t found my chairs and the hunt continues tomorrow, but I do have a video to share with you all about how to style a dinner table. This was shot at the Mila model unit I designed. It’s funny how I am coming up with design and styling for my model units in an instant but when it comes to my own house, I am having such a difficult time! I promise to take photos of how I set up my own dinner and buffet table tomorrow, but for now I hope you enjoy this..
Here are a few more still shots of my dinner table setup.

With this set up, will you still have place to put the dishes on the table? or is it more of the prepared kind (like in a restaurant)?
I had that in mind before but realised that it’s a bit hard to place the “ulam” when there are stuff on the way. :p

Hello Rachiel,
This kind of set up is meant for a dinner when you have visitors. Ideally food is not placed on the table when you are entertaining so that everything is pleasant to the eye. You can put food in a buffet table or have a prepared kind of serving. If you want food on the table you can still decorate but minimal only. 🙂

Thanks! I hope you can also share different ideas on a typical dining table setting for the family?

I will do that soon! Thanks for the idea!
