I love this time of the year! Christmas is not only when we celebrate the birthday of Jesus, it is a time to celebrate family and show each other that we care. It is about togetherness.. about being a child and getting excited over Christmas presents.
We see beautiful lights and get to fill our home with decor to welcome the season. It is for these reasons that I try to make Christmas special for my kids. I want them to look forward to Decembers, and most of all, I want them to be excited about Jesus’ birthday! We are renting a small town house and I literally have no space for a tree. After much thinking, I decided to get crafty and create an alternative 2d Christmas tree!
It’s a great way to decorate any blank wall and gave me a tree in my tight living space. The kids love it and always play with the bells that hang below. Here are other ideas if you want to be creative and make your own alternative tree.
Aren’t they all lovely? You can have fun and involve the kids in decorating these unique trees too. It took me about half an hour to make my tree. All you’ll need are some note cards or any kind of paper cut into rectangles or squares, some glue gun and glue stick, and light weight Christmas ornaments.
