The smell of pine.. happy Christmas snowmen, lights, balls and freshly baked cookies, they bring joy and warmth ushering the most wonderful time of the year. Yes I look forward to Christmas and decking the halls and even if we aren’t spending Christmas in this house, I still put some holiday touches just to make us smile.
My family and I are spending Christmas in Illinois with my sister and strolling along the snowy streets of New York after. Yes, it is going to be a cold white Christmas spent with family we miss dearly. This is why I did not bring the Christmas tree out, but rather created snippets of Christmas in our home. I was so delighted to find the cutest Holiday dolls at All Home, a massive home resource store just 5 minutes from where we live.
My favorite is this furry white and powder blue snowman that is also a cookie jar at the same time. It just looks so cuddly and cute and the colors are perfect for any Scandinavian themed home.

Because of last-minute shopping, finalizing work details for interior design projects, and packing for our winter trip, I decided to not bring out the tree and instead make a Christmas tree out of our fiddle fig tree that died. Yes, sob sob.. one of my babies died! I forgot to water it before we left for one out-of-town weekends and because its’ roots were not so established yet, its leaves all fell but I refuse to throw it away. The branches look strong and add a nice touch so I went ahead and decorated it for a sweet touch of Christmas cheer.
