When I first saw Greenery, the official color of the year declared by Pantone, I couldn’t help but cringe. It doesn’t look instantly attractive. It reminded me of the old carpet in my doctor’s clinic, and honestly it could have been mold. I’m sure you know what I mean but after doing some research I began to see how pretty Greenery can become. The technique is to use it sparingly as accents rather than using it to dress large pieces of furniture.
Perfectly suitable for the new year, refreshing and revitalizing, Greenery is a symbol of new things to come. Here is what Pantone has said about Greenery:
GREENERY
PANTONE 15-0343
A refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings.
Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.
Greenery is nature’s neutral. The more submerged people are in modern life, the greater their innate craving to immerse themselves in the physical beauty and inherent unity of the natural world. This shift is reflected by the proliferation of all things expressive of Greenery in daily lives through urban planning, architecture, lifestyle and design choices globally. A constant on the periphery, Greenery is now being pulled to the forefront – it is an omnipresent hue around the world.
A life-affirming shade, Greenery is also emblematic of the pursuit of personal passions and vitality.
Such a beautiful and promising description right? So just how can we use this color in our homes? Here are a few tips:
Use Greenery Small Furniture Pieces.
The use of green fabric on these dining chairs added a pop of color and regal touch to this dining room.
Add lots of indoor plants to achieve a palette of Greenery in your Home.
Plants clean the air and give a breath of life so I love putting them indoors. The perfect spot would be at a part of your house near large windows. Take a look at how these plants added life to this space.
Create a Greenery Inspired Tablescape for your Party or Dinner Table
Using greenery to style your dinner table or parties is a fabulous idea that is easy enough to execute. I personally like it when paired with neutral colors like white and beige but I can imagine it would go well with blush pink or lilac as well. You can actually use it with so many other colors if used on a table setup because green can actually pass as a neutral color!
Bring Greenery Into Your Kitchen and Add Life With Plants and Other Kitchen Decor.
Kitchen linen, plants, prints, spices and many more are just some ways to add Greenery into your kitchen. Aside from Table set ups, the kitchen is an easy place to use Greenery.
