We spent Valentines Day weekend at my in-laws vacation house. I was looking forward to a restful, laid back weekend. Heart sun catchers proved to be a great activity for the kids and they loved it!
Here’s What You’ll Need:
1. large white coffee filters
2. food coloring or watercolor diluted in water.
3. paint containers
4. medicine dropper
5. tape to stick hearts when done
6. paper towels
7. scissors
8. big plates to hold hearts
Start off by cutting heart shapes out of the coffee filters. Put them on top of the big plates and drop food coloring or paint into it. This is a great way to teach kids about colors and how they mix. Introduce basic colors and ask questions like “what happens if you mix red with blue?” Once you have the whole heart painted simply lay them on top of paper towels to dry. Hang them by a glass window with tape and enjoy the sunlight shine through your hearts!
Hope you had a good Valentines Weekend too!
