I came to realize something and recognized that how I react to that realization will determine how neat and tidy my home will look. I realized that you can get so used to clutter and an unorganized home until one day it will no longer bother you. Let me explain further. When we first moved into our apartment, I was obsessed about hiding all the clutter and making everything look neat and clean. I even wanted all the bottles of shampoo in my bathroom to be uniformed. You know, white plain clean bottles with one minimalist label? Then life happened. I started buying more toiletries than my uniformed bottles could hold. I began accumulating junk like business cards, important receipts and the like. Before I knew it, my night table looked messy.
If you read my previous blog post on how to hide clutter you will know that there are essentials we cannot live without and look unsightly. That big brown box contained some of them and was getting to cluttered. I decided to hide them all in a decorative box.
I used the blue tray to hold essentials like my mobile phone, a pen and chargers. I stacked the decorative boxes and my books neatly on the side near the wall and left things looking neat and simple.
I am much more pleased with how this looks and have been keeping it this way since the makeover. The key is to maintain. If you do not get into the habit of putting things away immediately where they belong, you will revert to your old situation and end up having a new pile of mess in no time. Hoping this inspires you to get organizing! Happy weekend!
