I used to write on journals. I had one addressed to my future daughter when I first got a broken heart. I wanted to tell her to wait and not rush it. Then I had journals to document those long tear filled conversations with God. Rekindling my fondness of Moleskine notebooks through the event that Wholemom and Moleskine was going to mount was exciting. It also made us quite nervous! When we learned that our guests would be our fellow moms and influencers in the industry, we were quite overwhelmed. What if they didn’t want to listen to us? What were we going to teach them, when they all know more than we do? We decided to just trust God, go with the flow and have fun.
Last May 25, that is exactly what we did. We had so much fun bonding and sharing with moms who inspire us because of their talent and passion in their own fields. Held in the Spanish and tapas bar Vask in BGC, the #WholemomXMoleskine event turned out to be a fun outlet for moms to be themselves and enjoy with no pressure. I ditched my usual Organizing the Home talk and did a flower arrangement demo. I took a short class on floral arrangement in The Hong Kong Academy of Flower Arrangement so I was happy to do this demonstration. I also gave tips and an easy formula on how to style coffee. tables.
After I talked about how to style coffee tables, our guests were divided into 3 groups. They got to use decor from H&M Home and the best Instagram photo of the styled coffee tables would win bags from Moleskine and jewelry from Stella and Dot and Keep Collective.
Vanessa Matsunaga won first place. Here is her Instagram shot..
After my demo, Cheska charmed the guest with her practical tips on grooming. We often forget to take care of ourselves as moms, so being inspired to do so was a nice reminder. Rica on the other hand, got the moms to use their Moleskine notebooks and reflect on a few things about motherhood.
Guests went home with gift packs from Moleskin, Browhaus and Inglot aside from flowers. The event organizers Dara and Drey did an amazing job putting this event together.
In the end, it was a fun afternoon even for us hosts, as we listened to each mom’s passions, and got to mingle with friends. The three of us went home with full hearts, happy to serve God in any way we can.
Until the next event..
