I don’t recall the first day I stumbled upon Pinterest but I was hooked! I gushed over delicious healthy and gorgeous looking recipes, easy-going yet elegant fashion pieces, and visual pegs for events and parties. It was my own place in cyberspace where I felt relaxed and inspired. Pinterest is a visual diary where you can pin photos of ideas you want to save for future reference. It is a brilliant bookmarking tool that is also considered a social media site. My own Pinterest account is one with a wide range of boards from interior design inspirations, to party styling ideas.
I create boards when I brain storm for design projects. My board called Kids Rooms was born when I was planning our new house and looking for ideas for my kids’ room. On days when I simply want to “get lost in dreamland” I pin away with no goal or work- related agenda. I just get lost pinning photos that inspire me. My Scandinavian Interiors board is an example of this.
This weekend I recall a blog post I did earlier about things I loved for the week and thought of showing you what I got out of Pinterest on this holiday. I love pink and fell in love with this pink glass dish from Nordstrom’s online store with a quote from Audrey Hepburn!
These cacti in metallic and pink plant pots from my friend’s blog Passion shake is something I am gushing over too. And since this got me all giddy for pretty things in pink, I found this gorgeous dining table with a pink base from micasarevisita. Don’t you just love that mid-century drop light?!
Another idea that caught my attention was the easy- to- do wall mounted shelves in pastel colors found on styleestate blog. These are from Ikea but I think it can be easily replicated with any ordinary plywood and some paint. This works well because of the grey wall back ground. Pastel works great with grey… very Scandinavian, and for those of you who know me by now.. you’ll know that I love this!
If you have not discovered Pinterest open your accounts now! The ideas and concepts you can gather from this are endless. Aside from pinning from other Pinterest users, most websites and blogs allow you to pin their photos on to your own Pinterest boards. This is specially useful for pinning recipes from food network sites and outfits you like from fashion blogs. Go get into Pinterest and have fun! You can click on this link to sign for and it will be available for a period of time. Don’t forget to follow my Pinterest account here.
