A neat and pretty home office has been my dream. I used to have my own space. I took over my husband’s built-in home office in his bachelor pad. It was painted in black wood, had beige walls and was very masculine. We moved to a studio flat when we sold that place and my desk was next to the bathroom and my cat’s litter box! In our 3 bedroom flat I had my own desk inside our masters bedroom but none of them were pretty! When I started blogging, my eyes opened and my wish list grew as I saw the importance of having one’s own home office and making it look beautiful. We work at home so that space has to be inspiring. Here are 10 home office designs that I really love..
The Rustic Vintage Office
The walls, the lamps, those old chairs.. they work together so well. I love the generous work space and the little vintage pieces of decor purposefully placed around the area.
The Sophisticated Scandinavian Office
The light wood makes it Scandinavian but I love the touches of copper and that shaggy throw on the chair that makes things more sophisticated. The desk size and lack of storage doesn’t make this a space for serious work- at- home people but it should work for a simple laptop and a few files.
The Upcycled Office
I love the creativity put into this! It seems a little masculine but I do appreciate the use of wooden crates and how they turned it into a desk. This proves that a stylish office does not have to be expensive.
The Nordic Home Office
This is very pretty, neat and appealing to me. I love the light wood and beige desk accessories. That wooden rod hung with leather straps is quite brillant. You can hang books, photos of inspiration among other things.
The Multi colored Office
It’s a fun vibrantly colored office with no particular color theme but exaggerating colors is what makes it work. It looks very functional to me and I just love those white storage boxes!
The Industrial White Office
I like how they utilized this hallway and made it into a home office. The black and white folder files make things so much organized while looking attractive! Now that’s something I need. One folder for each design client.
The Colorful Blogger’s Haven
This office studio belongs to Dianne of In My Own Style and it is simply heaven for any creative individual. Pieces of inspiration, flowers and splashes of color amidst lots of storage is why I like this office.
The Ultra Glamorous Home Office
Oh my gosh, I can’t get over how gorgeous this looks! Owned by fashion blogger Annette Haga.. this is one style I would never normally go for but I am loving it.
The Rustic Chic Office
This is a well styled office where all furniture pieces were though of. I love the leather chairs and the fact that everything from storage to desk is actually purposeful.
Have you had your fix of home office inspiration yet? Are you now wishing and wanting because I sure am dreaming here. Have a great week!

Hello Dianne!
Thank you for your comment. The key to upcycled and rustic design is to look for unique items that you already have that can potentially make an impact. Examples would be to use wooden crates or palettes, piled up car tires as a table base, old sewing machines, luggage etc. As for wall design you can use pieces of plywood strips fastened onto a concrete wall, a faux brick wall finish or even a plain concrete wall effect will work too. You just gave me an idea for a possible blog post. Will work on it! Subscribe to my blog so you don’t miss the post! Congratulations on the new space.
