Hello and hope you are all having a lovely day. My day started later than usual, I must have been really exhausted, not to mention that I slept late last night blogging for Glamomamas and Makeitblissful, the two sites I write for. I woke up this morning quite harassed as I was running late for an appointment. I will admit, our home right now is nowhere near neat and pretty. We’re renting such a small apartment, I do try to keep it clean but there are things I wish were more functional. We have very limited surface for our kitchen counter and could use more storage. Just a few more months and we get to move into a bigger house. I couldn’t help but think things could be better and I would wake up much more relaxed if there was less clutter. Day 2 of the 8 weeks to #inspiredhomeliving is all about organizing and hiding all the mess.
Here are some ways you can hide all the clutter:
1. Make use of furniture that doubles as storage. I love this clever DIY tutorial from Martha Stewart:
2. Use open space of existing furniture and cover them up with fabric.
3. Use all your furniture storage space and develop the habit of packing away.
A lot of us actually have room in our house to hide clutter but we don’t have the discipline to put things away. Teaching our family members and help to immediately put things back into the proper location will go a long way.
4. Use storage boxes and keep necessary clutter in them.
We all have what I like to call necessary clutter. These include things like remote controls, a box of tissue, a notebook and pen, kids toys etc. Keeping these in storage boxes that are uniformed and look pretty will make you home much more organized and beautiful.
Hope you have an inspiring week and that you have some time to do a little bit of home cleaning as you make your way towards #inspiredhomeliving. Have a great day!
