I love seeing simple home makeovers especially when they come out so chic and classy! They only catch my attention when the outcome and work involved to execute is somewhat on the same level. I mean, who has the time to bring out a drill, hammer and some other tools. Who wants to sweat and do all the hard work, right? The kind of make overs I like are those that involve shopping, or simply moving decor around the house to come up with a new look. These easy to do home makeovers from Real Living caught my attention..
1. Bare living room of a semi furnished condo unit.
Some rental units come with basic furniture and learning how to decorate them is the key to putting soul. life and fun to your space. I love how they achieved this by adorning the stiff red couch with throw pillows in pops of color and patterns. The whole place was softened by the accent chair they added in a contrasting color and silhouette. Lastly accessories like vases, artwork, a basket and a retro phone gave the whole area personality. The rug played a great role in defining this space too.
2. Neat and Spartan Dining Room Furniture.
Simple and minimal furniture pieces are always a good choice but when left bare it might remind you of an old hospital like space. Styling with a few off key pieces, color, and creativity is all you need to make any space come to life. Loving how they kept the original chair in the photo and added some colorful stools. Fun prints and a centerpiece to reflect your style will always add personality when decorating your own space.
3. Small boring bathrooms
We’ve all seen them.. the small bathrooms that could look charming when spiced with decor and styling. With pretty accessories, a splash of color and the right rug, any bathroom can be made to look more inviting. Oh, and please don’t forget to scrub the grime off those tiles!
4. Small kitchens that need to be functional.
When you have o make do with small space, storage and surfaces are important. These should be utilized to maximum potential and it can be done without sacrificing aesthetics. Avoid clutter, hide those condiments inside closed cabinets or put them inside pretty bottles and storage baskets. Display dry goods in clear jars, bring in a few potted plants and some other pretty kitchen decor.
5. A budget conscious bedroom.
We all have to live within our means and a beautiful home does not mean everything has to be new. I appreciate how this bedroom was turned into something more appealing by changing a few pieces. Learn to mix and match color, print and texture for bed linen. Always put a small table or ottoman to hold essential bed time items.
Now are you convinced that changing the look of your space can be simple and fun? To read more about where you can find the exact pieces used in this makeover, head over to the Real Living page here. Hope you were inspired to do a few decor and furniture switches this weekend!
