Oh to be away from the busy city life! The last few days up here in my parents’ farm has been heaven! Being where the cool wind spiced with the smell of fresh grass blows, the scenery of greenery and clear blue skies and an agenda to do nothing but have fun and rest is simply divine! This is what I’ve been waking up to..
Today we painted Easter eggs! A tray of beautiful brown eggs got the kids so excited. The best colors that work with brown eggs would be white, black , silver and gold. I decided to play with white.
I used a fine brush and white poster paint. Tomorrow we hide this around our wild garden and the kids get to hunt.
My kids aged 2 and 4 had fun mixing their favorite colors together which made the eggs look a little bit like poop..
After we painted eggs the kids watched a cartoon DVD called The Animated Passion which is an accurate account of how Jesus was betrayed, put to death and rose from the grave! I highly recommend this video. This is the second Easter we watched this. Hope you’re all having a quiet week of reflection and rest. We can get so busy with work in the city that taking time off with family to rest, remember Jesus work on the cross and simply cherish our blessings is a great way to spend this Lenten Season. I’m curious to know how you all spend Easter in other parts of the world?
