In just two months we will have to move out of our rental unit and into our new home, so I am quite pressured to finish things quickly. The kitchen on the ground floor has always been the clearest vision I had in my mind and I knew the specific look I wanted. Things are shaping up, the cabinet company began installing, and this week we hope to install our old reliable Elba range hood and some solid wooden shelves. Here’s what’s happening now:
I’m quite happy with the white wooden cabinet material we chose, and I can’t wait for our clean white synthetic stone counter tops to be set in place. Already composing Instagram vignettes on an all white back drop because of this!:) What I love about designing our own home is I was able to plan where I want all small appliances to go, they will all be hidden in a tall cabinet on the left side, near that door. The other tall closet you see on the right is where our water dispenser will be hidden.
My reliable tile supplier had the perfect white subway tiles although they don’t come in an alternating brick pattern. We bought a lot of these Ikea accessories during our last trip to Hongkong, and it will just make things a lot more organized and pretty. I also fell in love with the Muuto stacked shelf system. Too bad I have no direct access to those here, but I thought of trying to simulate it with wine crates until I can get the original ones.
Hope you had fun and got some ideas for your own homes. Will be updating you on the progress soon! Have a great weekend.

Hi. Would like to know where you got your subway tiles? Thanks.

Hello Cathy! Nice to hear from you. I am getting my subway tiles from Felport Marketing. They have a new showroom along Wilson Street.
