While it seems like design trends don’t last long, these autumn trends are easy enough to execute for those who want to change the look of their home. What I like the most about these trends is the powerful statement they make and the ability to completely transform any given space. They exude a unique vibe, making it capable of withstanding this fall season and lasting longer than it ought to.
Colorful kitchen cabinets.
There was a time when only wooden kitchen cabinets were acceptable. Then there came a phase in design when everyone seemed to go for white kitchen cabinets in gloss or even rustic white wood wash. Thankfully, a new bold and interesting trend has come to light that can be quite jaw dropping as it is simply gorgeous. Painted kitchen cabinets are simply a sight to behold and it certainly is nothing close to boring.
Primary Colors for the Home
Using primary colors for the home used to intimidate me because they seemed to just yell out to you, being so bright it seemed hard to achieve a warm atmosphere but it grew on me. The secret to using primary colors is to use it as an accent on one small wall, on a piece of furniture, on the art or even wood molding or doors. The photos below used red and yellow in soft furnishing like cushions and curtains, to my opinion they turned out to be brilliant.
Printed Wall Paper
I used to cringe upon seeing printed wall paper. It seemed they should have been confined to fabric used for dresses in the early eras and locked away inside my grandmother’s trunk. But have you seen the new prints of wall paper companies these days? They are so rich and happy in wonderful prints and when used in the proper way, they add a perfect punch to your room. Take a look at this below,
Curated is More
Minimalist and even Nordic design is out and we are welcoming curated design and embracing it as we get to express ourselves more. Well sourced and even collected decor and accessories, random furniture deliberately sought after as a piece for ones living room are hallmarks of curated design. Things all go together in a curated design but never match or come from one and the same set making the entire composition interesting.
What do you think of these brilliant design trends? In my opinion, they are bold and never dull but easy to apply for those who want a quick change or new look in their home. Wallpaper can be easily installed, a few primary colored textile thrown here or there to make a bold statement will update any room and for those who don’t mind a little painting, turning your kitchen cabinets into a rich color is exciting. There is lots to do in interior design as long as you keep an open mind. Happy renovating!
