I’ve recently discovered a trend I want to try to use.. Stripes! For some reason stripes intimidate me. There’s something stringent, serious and stiff about them, but once I did some research, I was hooked! The key is to use it as an accent. A striped rug, art piece or accessory here and there can do the trick.
The striking black and white rug gives this room so much character considering the furniture pieces are very simple and ordinary.
I like how they combined a series of small macrame’ rugs to come up with the right size.
Stripes used as a rug to define the area.
Stripes can be used on upholstery as well. They add an elegant touch to furniture pieces.
For those of you who can go more daring, use stripes on walls as a statement rather than an accent. Wallpaper is a convenient way to add stripes to a wall, but you can use paint also.
Don’t you just love this hand painted wall? The crude application makes things even more interesting. The key to making this wall look presentable are the decor and accessories put along side it.
This room is AMAZING! It will be my inspiration to create a bold striped design space. This is going in my interior design bucket list. The horizontal stripes make this tiny hallway look bigger.
