I’ve been thinking of new design concepts and while I am attracted to the minimal and pure vibe of Scandinavian design, I wanted some kind of twist by adding color. Scandinavian design is characterized by its’ pristine white palette, light wood, and minimal accessories but a pop of color here and there makes a happy space. Here were some inspirations:
I love the picture wall, notice how the photos in the frames were carefully selected so that the colors are mostly monochromatic? Well chosen photos which are not too busy is the key to a pretty picture wall.
This tweaked Scandinavian space looks so much more happy. Walls and ceiling remain white, an accent wall of light wood is a standard, yet furniture and accessories are more modern. If you’d like to go for this style, start off with basic white walls and accessorize with color. Totally loving these decor from various shops around the globe:
2. Marilen.ph resort inspired fabric coasters
3. Ikat monogram letters from Anthropologie
4. Ornament clock from Heath Ceramics
5. Olli Lounger from Heath Ceramics
Bright colors against white walls seem exciting to me. Do you think you will like this design style?
