As we edge closer and closer to Spring, you’re probably looking forward to your vacation. If you haven’t booked your vacation for Summer 2020 just yet, then it’s likely because you’re still unsure about where you want to go. My family is gearing up for a grand reunion in Hawaii this summer and we are looking forward to it already!
A vacation should be the time of the year that you finally relax and unwind. It should be somewhere that you are excited to visit, and it should have all the amenities that make for a memorable vacation for you. So, with that in mind, we’ve put together some things that you need to consider when it comes to choosing the perfect 2020 vacation spot!
- First, think about how far you want to go. Do you want to book a lodge on the side of a mountain halfway around the world, or are you happy to go for a condo by the ocean in your own country? No matter what you choose, you should factor in your travel time to your dream destination. If you have no intention of flying longer than a couple of hours, build that into your online search.
- The cost is going to be a factor for you here. Your budget really does matter, and you should consider how much you are willing to spend on each aspect of your vacation. You have transport, accommodation and spending money to factor, but also travel insurance. To save money, consider an all-inclusive plan over a self-catering option.
- Planning ahead is going to be a must, but you’re probably already on it! You will likely be on websites checking out the activities in the local area already. If so, buy your tickets for things in advance as much as possible. This way, you can scoop the best discounts and deals, and you won’t have to queue up to get into places.
- Before you go anywhere, check out the weather. If you’re about to head to a destination famed for its hurricanes, then perhaps make sure that you book your vacation at a time of year where storms are fewer. It’s not just extreme wind, but fire seasons and monsoon seasons to consider!
- Lastly, you need to make sure that where you’re going is safe. No matter what, most of the world is in some kind of political unrest, but that doesn’t mean that you have to venture into an actual war zone. Be mindful of the issues a country is having and know that when you are careful, you can remain safe on your vacation. Make sure that you keep up to date with country alerts, too, as viruses are prevalent in some countries right now!
The one thing that you need to know about your summer 2020 vacation is that it must be everything YOU want it to be. Don’t waste your money heading somewhere you aren’t happy with. You want this to be a memorable, exciting vacation that has given you everything you need. Get your travel insurance sorted out and make sure that you are ready to go!
