I’m absolutely crazy about a modern line of Italian designer furniture called MOROSO. It has been around since 1952 and was the brain child of a lovely couple, Agostino and Diana Moroso. Their passion and creativity opened doors for them as they are now a company known for beautiful chairs, sofas and other furniture pieces. Superb workmanship, high quality materials and an intense production process is what set them apart. Today the business is continued by the couple’s daughter, Patrizia who took things a step further by collaborating with fabulous names in the world of design such as Ron Arad, Patricia Urquiola, Alfredo Haberli, and Doshi Levien.
I love the colors and fabric used in their pieces and the craftsmanship that is evidenced by the details. Sofas and chairs for instance are not your usual smooth type of upholstery application, designs come tufted, or present itself like a poof.
The Antibodi by Patricia Arquiola looks striking and pretty as a floral like 3d pattern wraps it’s entire being.
The coat sofa and chairs by Sebastian Herkener combines function with outstanding design. Its body is made of fabric designed with a technology similar to what you would have on socks with those anti- skid dots. It is quite brilliant if you ask me as it is something unique, keeping your furniture in perfect contact with your floor, yet proving to be quite easy to move around.
Another accent piece I would love to have is the Clarissa Hood Chair by Patricia Urquiola. It is characterized by a backrest that appears to be a hood over the person sitting on it. It has a body that is quite linear and geometric on the outside but an uber comfy portion to sit on from the inside.
Moroso also collaborated with Diesel, yes the clothing brand, and has come up with collections that can be described as trendy yet masculine because of the colors used.
The longwave and shortwave by Diesel is presented with a wide array of fabric and leather choices to complete their signature vibe.
Last but not the least is something on my wishlist.. the Tropicalia by Patricia Urquiola. The colors are just so vibrant, adding happiness to any outdoor space it floats on. I love the cocoon and the daybed itself is quite a sight too. Made of light weight yet durable material, this outdoor set is a fresh change to your usual dull Pvc outdoor furniture pieces.
