I’ve been attracted to a new micro trend lately and that is the use of chevron as a pattern for the home. I love the vibrant energy that this print exudes and it instantly brings character to any space. Chevron refers to a v- type pattern and is used as a reference to an architectural frieze or detail found in old Greek and Roman structures. It originates as early as 1800 BC and has been found on pottery from the ancient palace of Knossos on Crete. Today’s interpretation of the chevron is more fun and colorful and it can be used to decorate the home in different ways such as:
1. Use chevron as a floor pattern through wood or tile.

This baby nursery was given a whole new twist with the use of chevron on the walls. I love the subtle grey hue. Chevron can be painted by simply taping off portions that are intended to remain white. There are lot’s of wall paper suppliers too. I get my wall paper from Wallcrown Philippines. They have a wide selection of wall paper from around the world and provide good service.
3. Chevron Area Rugs Rock!
An easy way to add chevron to any space would be through the use of area rugs. A good supplier in town would be decoliving. I love their fun rug patterns.

4. Go crazy with chevron printed accessories.
Chevron throw pillows, photos on frames, or textile is a great way to use this pattern for the home. The trick is to use this sparingly combining them with other more simple patterns and accessories.

There are different ways to bring this vibrant pattern into the home. The trick is to use it as an accent. I wouldn’t paint an entire wall chevron, but would love to use it on one focal wall. Likewise, too much chevron printed pillows on one couch would be silly. Hope you get inspired to be bold and have fun with this pretty pattern!
