The four nights I spent in Shangri- La Rasa Ria Resort in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia was a great time of rest and fun for my soul. Located in Pantai Dalit Bay, this resort is one that charmed me from its impressive Malaysian architectural details to the amenities and beautiful sunset that beckons.
Details of Malaysian carvings and wood cut outs made each nook and space interesting. Luscious greenery made you feel more relaxed, and the smell of fresh sea breeze completed the atmosphere.
Aside from the wood details, they had charming accessories like lamps and pillows.
Parts of the hotel had traditional Malaysian exhibits of their own musical instruments.
We were here to attend out cousins wedding. It was a wonderful time of rest and fun for me. Our room was clad in textured wall paper but had a pleasant splash of colorful fabric and accessories. I seldom see bold colors and print in hotel rooms, but this really worked out well.
A spectacular beach front surrounded by acres of lush green forests surround the Rasa Ria resort. An eco- friendly golf course, Orangutan education center, and horse back riding tour are just some of the activities you can enjoy on this island. The kid’s zone host a wide range of activities like caring for baby Orangutans which they consider to be Sabah’s icon. Of course nothing beats unwinding with a pina colada while watching the gorgeous sunset.. that was my favorite time of the day!
