It puzzles me.. how I look at the next week of my planner and smile because it is looking light and bright, but just before the present week comes to a close, next week’s schedule is already full! I am not really complaining but now that I truly have had a light week with moments when I am already feeling a little bit uncomfortable that I have nothing to do, I can breathe! I’ve forgotten what this is like. Time to linger in the shower, time to do my own nails, time to go to the gym or jog around the village.. So sweet! Honey for my busy soul. I do thrive in being busy. My brain has developed this coping mechanism where by it can handle 10 projects at the same time and still manage a home. Only by God’s grace am I able to stay calm and relaxed!
Massages help but somethings do give. The very first thing that went out the window was my workout schedule and health. I just literally could not fit that in. Mornings are reserved for the kids, afternoons for work, and there is no way I can get up before 8am to go to the gym either. Another thing that can fizzle with a hectic work schedule? My relationship with my husband. Do any of you feel like you are just passing each other by? We have opposite schedules so we literally have to plan to make time for each other. Bitter realization but hugging when we sleep is comforting.
We just moved into our new house. The roof deck bedroom is still being constructed and getting things fixed here and there has added to all the chaos. Nevertheless I am thankful at all that God has given and for the provision I am claiming He will always give. Being in our new home and getting things organized has been a tremendous help. We were living in such a small rented space for a year, and a bedroom in my in laws for 5 months that just being able to have a table to home school the kids at, or a place where I can just sit alone and reflect has been awesome!
I just finished most of my interior design projects and I am down to 3 from 10. This is new to me, sometimes I worry but this is something I must enjoy! I can focus on this blog and start turning all my plans to reality! I’ve gone back to the gym, and looks like I can work out 2 or 3x this week also! Why am I sharing this with you? There are a couple of things I reflected on..
1. I just feel that we all have to remember to take care of ourselves and our relationship with our husbands.
2. I wish I didn’t have to work so hard but we all have our financial needs, so when you do, work at it with all your heart as unto the Lord without sacrificing your priorities like your family.
3. Starting each day with God’s word and pockets of prayer time throughout the day is what kept me calm.
I’ll let you know how this week turns out but so far it’s looking to be just right, schedule wise. How about you? Can you relate to what I am going through? I’d love to hear about how you cope with work and a busy schedule too!
