I have been waiting for the right time to share this with you.. We’re building our own home and I get to design every aspect of it! Things may be challenging when you are working on a budget. It is different when every pay check you get goes directly into the house fund, but I am excited! It is a modest size house built on three floors.
We decided that the ground floor would be the kitchen and informal breakfast area. The design theme will be white Scandinavian with some wood accents. Clean, airy with a touch of vintage decor. I chose Optimus Space Solutions, Inc. to execute my kitchen and we picked a pretty white wood grain material for the cabinets. The counter top will be all white too! At last I will be able to take gorgeous photos composed on a white backdrop.. my kitchen counter! Here are my inspirations..
I love the kitchen of Michelle Halford of thedreamchaser. Those windows are awesome! She was so nice to reply to my Instagram question about what material she used for her counter top and backsplash. It turns out to be Silestone which is a quartz material and is distributed here in Manila by Ashton technologies. They also happen to be the ones who will supply my counter top except that mine will be a synthetic stone top. I love Silestone, but just can’t afford it.
I’m thinking of scouting for some second-hand wood tables for the kitchen dining area. That way I minimize on cost. Mix and match chairs of plastic, and second-hand finds will make the composition more interesting. When we were in Hong kong, we hit the Ikea store and bought lots of kitchen accessories. Here are some of them which will complete my Scandinavian look.
I love these lights from John Pomp. They’re industrial, vintage, but at the same time modern and classy! I think it will go well in my space. I have lots of cacti and potted succulents so you can just imaging how cute they would be around the house.
Stay tuned for more of my house concept and the actual construction and styling photos. Follow me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter or better yet subscribe to our mailing list by putting your email address on the space at my blog’s right side so you don’t miss a thing! Happy weekend!
